Last Stop five-minute speedrun
Twenty carts, one clock, no scanner, no second player.
Speedrun mode is the same Last Stop loop with a five-minute knife on the table. You still memorize Cart 20. You still turn back on a mismatch. You still need twenty correct forwards to see Cart 0. The differences: the anomaly scanner is not available, hesitation is expensive, and a dead clock rolls one of three bad endings instead of a quiet lobby retry.
Do not start here. Own a Normal You Won first using the walkthrough. The clock does not teach spotting; it only grades a scan you already have.
Rules of the clock
- Five minutes for the whole twenty-cart sequence.
- A miss still resets you. A reset with 90 seconds left is usually a loss.
- Turning back on a clean cart wastes more than in Normal because the timer does not pause.
- Headphones on. Audio tells are faster than a second visual lap.
- Single-player. Nobody can run ahead and ping a poster for you.
Badge targets: Speedrunner for a finish inside the limit; [Speedrun] Bad Ending 1/2/3 for timer fails. Counts and farming notes are on badges and endings.
Pre-flight (30 seconds, off the clock if the lobby allows)
- Warm Cart 20 in Normal or Infinite until the default clown, sleeper, phone guy, soda box, arrows, and Next Cart label are automatic. Use getting started.
- Decide your skip list. In a clock run you will not inspect the reverse of every sign unless the front looks wrong. Know which hard anomalies hide on the back of Stops Remaining so you still peek that one surface.
- Bind a comfortable turn. See controls. A slow mobile swipe costs seconds every cart.
- Close this wiki. You cannot afford tab-outs. Review the checklist before you press play, not during.
In-cart route
Enter. Eyes on the threshold (extra body, mirror, stretched sleeper). Sweep lights. Read the two critical signs (Stops Remaining, Next Cart). Flick the soda box and camera. Confirm phone guy shirt and clown silhouette. Listen for two beats. Decide.
That is a compressed version of the six-point scan from how to spot anomalies. If the cart is clean, commit forward. The speedrun death spiral is double-checking a car that already passed four of six points.
If anything is off, turn immediately. Do not walk to the far door “just to be sure” unless the suspected tell is the far door (heaven glow, TURN BACK label, red outline).
Time splits (soft)
You will not get loading-screen splits like a 3D platformer. Use cart number as a split:
- Cart 20–15: 60–75 seconds including the opening memorize. If you are slower, you over-scanned.
- Cart 14–8: keep average under 15 seconds per decision.
- Cart 7–0: protect the streak. A safe back is better than a greedy forward with 40 seconds left.
If you hit Cart 5 with under 30 seconds, you are in coin-flip territory. Prioritize obvious easy anomalies and accept that a whisper might slip. A bad ending badge is still progress.
What not to bring
- Scanner. Normal only.
- Fullbright. Darkness is a tell. If you still want it, read fullbright and script safety knowing it can erase impending-darkness.
- Codes. None exist, and a UI hunt would burn the clock. See codes.
- Teammate callouts. There is no second headset in the server.
Fail with intent
If a run is dead at two minutes with a miss, leave and restart. Sitting in a doomed cart to “see what happens” is how you practice tilt. The only time you sit on a dead clock on purpose is when you are collecting the three bad-ending badges described on the endings page.
After Speedrunner
You are done with the competitive piece of Last Stop. Remaining content is cataloguing 50 anomalies, reading entities, and watching patch notes for new props that invalidate your Cart 20 snapshot.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for Cart 20, Cart 0, and the speedrun clock.
How long is the Last Stop speedrun?
Five minutes for twenty carts. Finish inside the limit for Speedrunner; fail for a bad ending. Details on endings.
Can I use the anomaly scanner in Speedrun?
No. The store scanner is Normal mode only. See anomaly scanner.
Should I sprint the whole way?
Sprint between scan points, not through them. Sprinting past the Next Cart label is a common hard anomaly miss.
Does a miss reset the timer?
A miss resets the cart streak. Treat it as a lost run unless you still have a huge time cushion, which you will not after Cart 10.
